A deck takes more weather than any other painted or stained surface on a house. Stain applied over dirt, mildew or old flaking finish looks blotchy in a month and peels in a year.

So the work starts with cleaning and drying time, then sanding and light repairs to loose or damaged boards. Railings, spindles and stairs get the same attention as the deck floor. Then the stain or sealer goes on, worked into the boards instead of sitting on top.

How often does a deck need to be restained?

It depends on sun, shade and the product on it now. Mitch will look at how the current finish is wearing and recommend a stain and a realistic interval.

Do you fix loose or damaged boards?

Light repairs like resetting loose boards and replacing a few damaged ones are handled as part of the job. Bigger structural repairs are quoted separately.
