Mitch Killeen is a U.S. Army veteran, a Fine Paints of Europe certified painter, and the owner of MK Painting & Custom Finishes. He paints homes across Montgomery, Bucks and Chester Counties, and he is on the job himself.

Gettysburg, the Army, then a brush of his own.

Mitch grew up around Gettysburg, painting old houses with his dad. Those houses taught him the parts of the trade that never show in a photo: how to read cracked plaster, why old woodwork needs an oil primer, and how much of a good finish is patience.
He served in the U.S. Army before college. In his words, “My years serving in the military has taught me how to be accountable for your everyday tasks and duties which prepared me for college and now running my own business.” MK Painting & Custom Finishes has been a verified member of Veteran Owned Business since 2019.
Over the years the work has moved toward the jobs that reward that patience: brushed gloss on cabinetry and doors, Roman Clay and lime wash, wallpaper murals, and restoration work in farmhouses that are a century or two old. He became a Fine Paints of Europe certified painter, and his crew includes Kyle and Jose, who reviewers mention by name.
He is direct about who the work is for: homeowners who care about the details and would rather have it done right than done cheap.

Up close and personal
Mitch films and photographs his work from a few inches away, in raking light, because that is how people actually look at a door or a cabinet. If it won't hold up to that, it isn't done.

Prep is where painters save time, so that is where Mitch spends it: patching, caulking, skim coating, sanding and the right primer for the surface.
